THE EXPRESSIVE SPEECH ACT ANALYSIS ON INSTAGRAM QUOTATIONS WRITTEN BY AWKARIN SELEBGRAM OF INDONESIA

Abstrak

Monalisa Sample. 2021. This study analyzes expressive speech acts in Instagram quotes written by Indonesian celebrity Awkarin. This study aims to identify, classify, and analyze the meaning of expressive speech acts in Instagram quotes written by Indonesian celebrity Awkarin. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data were taken from Instagram quotes from celebrity Karin Novilda as the primary source. The data collection techniques used in this study included reading Awkarin's Instagram quotes and other related data, identifying and classifying them into types of expressive speech acts, interpreting the meaning of Awkarin's Instagram quotes, and drawing conclusions from the data collected. The results show that there are 80 expressive speech acts in Awkarin's quotes in the selected data. These can be classified into 21 expressions of gratitude, 35 expressions of congratulations, 1 expression of condolences, 4 expressions of regret, 3 expressions of lamentation, 8 expressions of welcoming, 1 expression of forgiveness, and 7 expressions of boasting. All data found represents the meaning of eight types of speech acts.
